The Pretoria Institute for Architecture (PIA) is an independant Voluntary Association recognised by the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP), and is a  regional arm of the South African Institute of Architects (SAIA) for those of its members who are registered with SACAP as professional architects.. We provide support to our members with technical services, CPD accredited courses, publications and events. We also promote the interest of our members and  architecture in general to the public.
Membership is open to all registered architectural professionals,  students, as well as other categories to accommodate all who have architecture at heart.

OUR MISSION AND OBJECTIVES ARE
To promote the art, science, research and practice of architecture.
To serve the interests of its members.
To uphold the dignity of the profession through maintaining a code of conduct, professional competence and integrity, which has been established by its affiliated bodies, the South African Institute of Architects (SAIA) and the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP).

IMPORTANT
Registration with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP) is mandatory and a prerequisite to practice architecture or to call yourself an architectural professional.
Membership of the Pretoria Institute for Architecture (PIA) is voluntary.
