Architecture (PIA) is an
independent voluntary organization
that serves the needs of
architectural professionals.
Membership is open to all registered professional architectural practitioners registered or those who are eligible for registration with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP). The PIA is affiliated to the South African Institute of Architects (SAIA) through which architects are represented at National and International level.
The PIA strives to uphold the dignity of the profession and to promote the discipline
of architecture.

Free CPD in SACAP Cat 1 & 3A
- The Member needs to Re-register on website as a new member.
- The admin fee of R150,00 to be paid with membership fee.
- The member will receive a New PIA number.
- The member will also receive a new enrolment date.
When a member is removed from the
member role (in the previous financial year)
due to fees outstanding and wants to rejoin
in the current financial year, the following
steps are required:
- The Member will be liable to pay all fees outstanding and the current financial year’s fees and an additional admin fee of R150,00.
- The member will be issued with their original PIA number.
- The members’ original enrollment date will be valid.
- The member is to join as a new member with PIA & SAIA.
- The member is to pay R300,00 admin fee (PIA: R150,00 and SAIA: R150,00)
- The member will receive a new PIA & SAIA numbers.
- The member will receive a new enrolment date.
When a Member Resigns or is removed from the
member role due to fees outstanding and wants
to rejoin within two years, the following steps are
required to rejoin the PIA:
- The Member is required to pay all outstanding PIA & SAIA fees for previous and current year fees.
- The member is required to pay an admin fee of R150,00.
- The member will receive their original PIA & SAIA numbers.
- The member will keep their original enrollment date.
